Talk on Public Relations & Social Media in Sports at Aspire4Sport on 13th November

It plays an important role in generating public interest, increasing player and team visibility and filling the stands with fans."

About Mike Lee – Chairman of Vero: Mike Lee OBE is Chairman of VERO, a strategic communications company he helped create and launch in 2006, following his role as Director of Communications and Public Affairs for London's successful 2012 Olympic bid.
Mike was most recently a senior adviser to the winning Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup and PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games bids and played a similar role with the successful Rio 2016 Olympic bid and the International Rugby Board in their campaign for the inclusion of Rugby in the Olympic Programme. He has worked extensively in the business of sport with clients in many major sports including football, cricket, athletics and rugby. He is currently working with the World Squash Foundation in their bid for Olympic inclusion and is a senior adviser to the Qatar Olympic Committee and Doha's recently launched bid for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Previously he was Director of Communications and Public Affairs for Europe's football governing body, UEFA, working on many of UEFA's competitions, and media and political strategist for the English Premier League 1994 - 2000. He started his professional career as a parliamentary advisor.
Mike was voted PR Week's PR Professional of the Year in 2005 and awarded an OBE in that year's New Year's Honours list. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Beyond Sport, a Fellow of the RSA and in 2006 published his book The Race for the 2012 Olympics.
He has a long and distinguished career in sport and a unique track record of devising winning strategies for clients in the sector.
