Stray dogs menace in Goa

Wayne Noronha aspired to be a medic and served society but fate has played a cruel twist on this 17-year-old from Cuncolim village in Goa, India. He aspired to heal the wounded and alleviate the sufferings of others but instead he is dependent on others and is force fed.
Wayne has been fighting for his life unaware of the happenings around him. From April, the youngster has been in a coma, apparently from an anti-rabies dose gone wrong.
No one is for sure at the moment the factors which forced Wayne into a coma. For the moment, the parents and his dear and near ones are not concerned to go deeper to unravel the mystery behind his sickness, all of them want is that their beloved Wayne comes back into consciousness.
They have no time to dig deep into the medical case history.
For the records, Wayne was a bitten by a stray dog in Veroda Cuncolim in the last week of March while on an evening stroll. To be on the safer side, Wayne was admistered five of the six anti-rabies injections. There were no problem till that time, but after the sixth one Wayne slipped into unconsciousness and has since not recovered.
Since then, Wayne parents has hip hopped from one hospital to other in Goa and Mumbai, with the hope that Wayne will start talking to them and become normal.
For Wayne his first stop in Goa was a private hospital and after having spent a considerable amount of time he was shifted to Goa Medical College (GMC). Doctors at GMC were unwilling to tell the near and dear ones the exact cause of Wayne sickness.
By the time Wayne was air lifted to Mumbai the toxin had spread into his body and it was not certain to pin point the reasons for the current state Wayne is in.
Wayne is still on a road of recovery and still in a Mumbai hospital since April, but there is hope round the corner, he responds to sounds, but the recovery process is a slow one.
Besides the mental agony, the Noronha’s have been drained financially in a paying the huge medical bills and are pinning their hopes in prayers and blessings.
