Brazil team visit Aspire4Sport exhibition

Doha: There is no Kaka, nor Ronaldinho or Robinho, in the Brazilian squad which is in Doha to play Egypt in a friendly football match at Al Rayyan Stadium today at 8.00pm but that did not stop the football crazy fans in chasing the lesser known football stars among the team yesterday at Aspire Dome.
The three have not been able to make it to Doha for different reasons.
It is not always that you get a chance to meet your favourite football stars exchange greetings, pose for pictures and shake a hand or two, and football fans in Doha soaked in their moments of ecstasy. At Aspire Dome it was dream come true for many a fans who had the privilege to come closer to the Brazilian football team players.
The Selacao spend around twenty minutes at the venue of the four-day Aspire4Sport business conference and exhibition which is taking place at Aspire and which will end tomorrow.
Officials of the Aspire4Sport took the entire squad around the exhibition site to have a closer look at the 80 odd stalls promoting their products and services.
The players, officials and support staff made two stops during their flying visit, the first one at Qatar Foundation and the second one at the World Cup FIFA 2014, where they also ended their tour.
At Qatar Foundation stall, an official briefed the Brazilians about the organization and the work they are doing in the field of sports and other social fields.
The squad which was followed by a large contingent of visiting Brazilian journalists from the electronic media and also photojournalists also posed for a group picture at the World Cup FIFA 2014 stall set up at Aspire4Sport.
A few fans of the five-time World Cup winners, which have a large fan base in Qatar, had a few surprise in store for the team players and officials. An ardent female fan of Brazil pulled a fast one on all others. She managed to take a few autographs on the bunch of Seleacao pictures she was carrying with her. Coach Menezes and a few players put their signature on the pictures.
The Aspire Academy boys not to be outdone managed to click a few pictures and the most sought after being Liverpool player Lucas.
For Doha fans, the Brazilians national team playing in Qatar is not a new thing. The match against Egypt is the third match the South Americans are playing here for the last three years. Last year, the Brazilians lost to arch rivals Argentina 1-0 with Lionel Messi scoring the match winner. Earlier In 2009, Brazil played England. Both the earlier matches involving Brazil were played at Khalifa Stadium.
